"Share the Season 2016" was again a success! Thanks to all who donated!

As part of our "Share the Season" event we had a "partner tree "at Grotto's Pizza in Milford as part of their 20th "Parade of Trees". On display Nov. 22 to Jan. 1. Thanks to Ernie Moore & Joyce Cohee for helping decorate our tree. And Thanks to Milford Grotto Pizza and all the partners that donated!

In 2016, we granted 1st. State Animal Center/SPCA , Sussex County Animal Assoc./WAR, and Purrfect Haven Cat Rescue for the 13th straight year. We also granted 6 other groups in Delaware. Thanks to Concord Pet Foods and Supplies for help with the granting.

Thanks to all who donated to our 2012 Share the Season event.

On December 23, a Quarter Auction was held at the Milford Moose Lodge,20412 Beaver Dam Rd in Milford. Ms. Dana Hastings, of Celebrating Home conducted the event to benefit our general fund. Thanks Dana!

Our BINGO night at the Camden Moose on Dec.7 drew 54 players. Thanks to Trustee Hope Caldwell who managed the event.

On November 2, a quarter auction was held at the American Legion Ambulance Station 64, 111 W. Glenwood Ave. in Smyrna. Ms. Melissa Kelley Wilson of DE Quarter Auction Consulting group ran the event for Debbie's Fund.

A quarter auction was held June 28 at the Milford Skating Center to benefit our VARS Scholarship program. Trustees Deb LaVere and Carmen Kemper ran the event.

We had a booth at the First State Corvette Club Show in Dover on June 9.

On May 2 Debbie's Fund held a BINGO Night at the Carlisle Fire Co. in Milford. The Milford Parade Committee did the food. We had 48 players. Trustee Carmen Kemper who managed the show and donated all the prizes thru her business, Milford Skating Center. Thank You! Proceeds benefited the VARS Scholarship Fund.

Debbie's Fund had a booth at the Milford Bud & Bug Festival on April 28 and at Dover Days May 5.

We held a basket BINGO night at the Carlisle Fire Co. in Milford on March 7th. THANKS to Trustees Deb LaVere and Carmen Kemper who ran the show and donated the prizes. Proceeds benefited the VARS Scholarship Fund. The Milford Parade Committee did the food.

Ms. Carmen Kemper has been unanimously elected to the board as a Vice President and Trustee. Ms. Kemper is the owner/operator of the Milford Skating Center and has work with us for the last several years. She has been one of the primary organizers of the Milford BINGO nights. WELCOME, Carmen!

"Thank You" to those who contributed to our 2011 Share the Season event.

Ruby Tuesday in Milford donated a portion of the sales from December 6, 7 & 8 to Debbie's Fund. They will continue to do so every second Thursday of each month.Thanks to manager Chris Sample and Ruby Tuesday!

DEBBIE'S FUND BINGO NIGHT at the Camden Moose was held Friday, November 18. We drew 77 players. Hope Caldwell managed the event which went off smoothly.

Wheels and Wine '11 was held Saturday, November 5, at the Pizzadili Winery in Felton, DE. "THANKS" to all who attended! AND all who helped us get the 2011 show in after 3 postponements.

The First State Corvette Club named Debbie's Fund as the beneficiary of it's June 11, 2011 "Corvette & Custom Car Show" on the Legislative Mall in Dover, DE. We received a check for $1500 and presented the club with a "Friend to Animals" award. THANKS FSCC!

The 5th annual PAR FOR PETS CHARITY GOLF OUTING was held on Friday, June 3. We had 17 teams and 68 players. The weather could not have been better. As always thanks to all the players, sponsors and the staff at Jonathan's Landing.

"THANKS!" to all the vendors, and participants in the event at the 16 Mile Brewery in Georgetown on May 7. Special "Thank You" to Bret McCrea and Chad Campbell, the owners of 16 Mile Brewery, American Standard, Bethany Blues and Ritas. Ms. Bobbi Chandler ran the event.

Our April 6 BINGO night at the Carlisle Fire Co.in Milford drew 75 players. Thanks to all who donated prizes and the players. The Milford Parade Committee did the food. Debbie LaVere and Carmen Kemper managed the event flawlessly!

"Thank You" to all who donated to our 2010 SHARE THE SEASON event. We gave KCSPCA the first donation to their 2011 building fund and checks to SCAA and FFofM.

We decorated a tree at Grotto's Parade of the Trees (November 23 to January 1) at Grotto's in Rehoboth. Woodland Trust sponsored ($100) the tree for Debbie's Fund. We collected an additional $45 in donations.

"THANK YOU" to Nicola's Pizza and Friendly's in Rehoboth and Blooming Boutique in Lewes for donating a percentage of sales to Debbie's Fund.

Vera Bradley and Longaberger BINGO NIGHT on Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at the Camden Moose Lodge. We had 86 players. Food was supplied by the Camden Moose Lodge. Trustee Hope Caldwell managed the event.

On November 5th, Bobbi Chandler hosted a wine tasting benefiting Debbie's Fund at Cape Wines and Spirits in Lewes. 35 attendees sampled wines. Thanks to Cape Wines and Spirits and to those who attended.

August 15, Wheels and Wine '10 drew 170 cars, but do to poor weather the count was down 75 or so relative to the predicted count. Rain forced the closing one hour ahead of schedule to 2:30. The gate was good at about 1400 people. Pizzadili's reported good traffic at the wine tasting and at the food counter. Delaware State Police K-9 Unit did a demo with dogs Aron and Tyfo. Officers Justin Galloway and Danielle Martin put the dogs through their paces. DJ Jennifer Tunis was back this year with a new sound system. Trustee Charlie Stubbs again efficiently managed the event. Special Thanks to all the "helpers".

Par for Pets 2010 (fourth annual) was held on Friday, June 11, at Jonathan's Landing Golf Course in Magnolia. We had 13 particpating teams and 25 hole sponsors. Thanks to all the staff at Jonathan's Landing.

The 2010 grants were given out in July. KCSPCA, Purrfect Haven Cat Rescue, Sussex County Animal Association/Whimsical Animal Rescue, Dalmatian Rescue of Delaware, C.A.T.S., Feral Friends of Millsboro, Inc. and Homeles Cat Helpers received checks.

Milford Elks BINGO was April 9. We had 67 players. Felton alumni assn. did the food. Trustees Deb, Karen & Hope ran the event.

The Premier Poker Room closed in April - a loss of significant revenue.

~~~~ 2009 Memorial NEWS! ~~~~

Our 2009 Debbie's Fund Poker Nights at the Premier Poker Room in Dover went well. Thanks to trustee Charlie Stubbs and Joyce Talley of PPR.

Debbie's Fund Longaberger - Vera Bradley BINGO night at the Camden Moose was Friday October 23. Karen, Charlie and Hope ran the event. The Felton Alumni assoc. handled the food.

Sunday August 16. Held on the beautiful grounds of Pizzadili Winery the show offered free winery tours and wine tasting to participants in registered vehicles in addition to car show activities. Food and beverage court, under the large shaded pavilion, 50/50, 20 top car and other awards. Dash plaques went to first 100 registered vehicles. We had 182 paid show cars and about 25 that showed but did not register. The show drew about 1000 people. Vendor traffic was reported as good to excellent. There was no reported damage to the property or the cars. The Pizzadili brothers were happy with the result, and offered the site for use next year. DJ, Ms. Jenifer Tunis, had some problems with equipment match ups but went on to get the job done! Event was managed by Trustee Charlie Stubbs -- GOOD JOB CHARLIE! As with any event, there will be some "tweeking" but for a first time event - it went very well.

SPECIAL THANKS TO THOSE WHO DONATED TIME AND MONEY TO MAKE THIS EVENT A SUCCESS.

We held the 2009 Par For Pets Charity Golf Outing on Friday June 12 at Johnathan's Landing. We had 14 teams participate and the weather cooperated (just barely). The Lunch was outstanding and the staff as always did a great job.

Debbie's Fund had display space at the KCSPCA's day at Killen's Pond State Park on Sunday, April 19th. Check out the DLSM EVENTS Photo Galery below.

Our first 2009 BINGO night was Thursday, April 16 at the Milford Elks Lodge. We had 110 tickets sold and 94 players. Thanks to Greg Adams of the Milford Elks and all the sponsors. Thanks to trustee Debbie LaVere who managed the event and Carmen Kemper who helped organized the event and is the Longaberger representative. Thanks also to Milford Mystics roller hockey team and Felton Alumni Association who handled the food sales and sold tickets.

~~~~ 2008 Memorial NEWS! ~~~~

THANKS to everyone that helped with our annual "SHARE THE SEASON" 2008 event. We distributed goods to shelters. (See "Photo Galleries")

CANDLES FOR CATS AND CANINES 2008 - We raised approximately $980 this year for the fund. Trustee Hope Caldwell again managed the campaign. Thanks again to ALL who help sell or bought Home Interior products from us this year. Thanks also to Mrs. Terry Powell of Home Interiors.

As of 10/9/08 Charles Stubbs has joined us a a Trustee. Welcome Charlie!

Debbie's Fund made a $100 donation to the KCSPCA's "Trigger Fund" for medical care for a mistreated pup.

We participated in Macy's SHOP FOR A CAUSE day, in Dover on Saturday, September 20. Hope and Thelma joined with Juanita (as Rez Q. Pal) to pass out literature and cards.

The 2008 grant recipients are: KCSPCA, Purr-fect Haven Cat Rescue, Sussex County Animal Association/Whimsical Animal Rescue, The Animal League of Sussex County, Dalmatian Rescue of Delaware, and The Historic Lewes Cat Society.

Friday, June 13, 2008 was 60 golfers lucky day! Our second annual PAR FOR PETS CHARITY GOLF OUTING at Jonathan's Landing was a big success and we thank all that participated. Special thanks goes out to the staff at Jonathan's Landing. (see the "Thank You" published in local papers in our "DLSM PRESS" gallery AND the OUTING pictures in our "DLSM EVENTS" gallery below!)

Thursday May 29, 2008 was Debbie's Fund BINGO NIGHT at the Camden Moose Lodge. We had 104 players. Special "Thanks" to Gail Reed and Charlie Stubbs for their help in getting this event done. "Koodos" to Trustees Karen Barnes and Hope Caldwell as well!

On April 20, 2008, we attended Delaware Animal Appreciation Day at Killen's Pond state park sponsored by KCSPCA. We distributed promotional literature on the Bingo Night and the Par For Pets Golf Outing. More than 30 animal groups were represented.

SHARE THE SEASON 2007 - During December we collected pet food, supplies and cash donations for the area shelters. THANKS to Concord Pet Food and Supplies in Dover and Milford, Kustom Kuts, Milford Skating center in Milford for help with collection. Thanks to ALL who donated!

Molly Paes of Dalmatian Rescue of DE picked up donated blankets for her charges and we delivered 2 pick-up loads to KCSPCA. We also delivered supplies to Amy Royal and Tammy Magaha of the Sussex County Animal Association. (see Photo Galery)

As of Dec. first, 2007, Mr. Michael Newnam joined us as a Trustee. Welcome aboard, Mike!

Home Interiors candle sale raised $822.50 for DLSM projects. Trustee Hope Caldwell managed the sale again this year. Thanks to all that ordered!

Our 2007 All Night Skating Party at Milford Skating Center, held Oct. 27th, raised $560 for DLSM projects. Thanks to rink owner and DLSM Trustee, Deb LaVere and her staff including rink manager and DLSM member Carman Kemper. Check out the photos in DLSM EVENTS

2007 DLSM Grants went to KCSPCA, Purr-fect Haven Cat Rescue, Sussex County Animal Association/Whimsical Animal Rescue, The Animal League of Sussex County and Dalmatian Rescue of Delaware.

The 2007 "Par For Pets" Charity Golf Outing benefiting Debbie's Fund was held on September 7, 2007 at Jonathan's Landing. THANKS to all the sponsors and players! SPECIAL THANKS GOES TO Mr. Jack Beiser, the staff and Pro Craig Coffield at Jonathan's Landing.

On August 17, 2007, the Board of Trustees approved the adoption of the Governance and Practices Manual by an unanimous vote. The Board of Trustees unanimously approved revised bylaws, the expansion of the membership, and the imposing of yearly dues to fund "off mission" activities on 6/19/07. Dr. Danne Smith assisted us in these efforts beginning with a meeting on Saturday, April 7th, 2007.

Winner of the 2007 Fishing Trip for 4 aboard the headboat Tradewinds III was Ms. Earlene Morris of Frederica. Thanks to Karen and Captain Mike Baynum of the "TRADEWINDS III" out of N. Bowers, DE for donating the 2007 raffle trip tickets and to Lacrosse Homes for help with the drawing. SPECIAL THANKS to all who supported the raffle.

The Trustees have voted Tom Manaraze and the Staff of Lucky Stripes and Signs, Inc. an "In Appreciation" award. Tom & the staff were presented with a plaque thanking them for their contributions to our effort. (see DLSM EVENTS pix gallery below) THANKS FOR BEING WITH US FROM THE BEGINNING!

2006 grant recipients - In 2005, The Kent County SPCA received $500 and The Animal Rescue League of Sussex County, Inc. got $300. In 2006, The Kent County SPCA received a check for $550, The Animal Rescue League of Sussex County, Inc. was granted $350, Purr-fect Haven Cat Rescue, Inc. got a $300 first year grant as did The Sussex County Animal Association, Inc.

** SHARE THE SEASON 2006 ** - During December 2006, we delivered two pick-ups loads of donated supplies to help the shelters (KCSPCA and SCAAI) in celebration of Debbie's birthday. All Night Skating Party - Trustee Debbie LaVere organized the DLSM benefit all night roller skating party at the Milford Skating Center on November 11, 2006. We raised $529 for the animals and a had lot of fun! Just l!! (Thanks! Tom Manaraze at Lucky Stripes and Signs, Inc. for donating the banner)

2006 Home Interiors Fund Raiser - Trustee Hope Caldwell ran the fund raiser that raised $1000.50 for the animals. THANKS SO MUCH TO EVERYONE WHO ORDERED!

2006 Raffles - Thanks to Karen and Captain Mike Baynum of the headboat "TRADEWINDS III" out of N. Bowers, DE for donating the 2006 raffle trip tickets and to Lacrosse Homes (Longaberger basket drawing) and Milford Skating Center (fishing trip drawing) for helping with the drawings!! We raised $1300 on the 2006 raffles for the animals.

Trustee Karen Barnes managed a project with Lloyd Memorials to have a foot stone made for Debbie's grave. The 24 x 14 raised stone is engraved with the DLSM logo and the phrase " A Friend to Animals In Perpetuity". The stone was paid for from special donations and no money was taken from the fund. The Trustees dedicated the stone on October 12, 2006 in a short ceremony at the grave site. Thanks to Lloyd Memorials for the discount.

The 2006 fund raising weekend and yardsale, June 10th, and 11th, raised $2020! Mr. and Mrs. Robert Manaraze donated a large number of articles some of which have been sold on eBay. Other items were offered at the 2006 yard sale.THANKS BOB & BARB!!Debbie Wilson donated a number of items to the 2006 yard sale in Bryan Schilling's name. Wanda Rash, Dorothy Bush, and Eileen Woodland also donated items. THANK YOU ALL!

On March 22, 2006 the Trustees presented Mrs. Helen McCusker, owner of Merle Norman Studios in Dover, with the Memorial's first "In Appreciation" plaque. Helen was Debbie's employer and has supported the Memorial from the very beginning. THANK YOU, HELEN!

We are selling on eBay under our name "DLSMemorial".

T's with the logo, a rendering of a cat or a dog on the front and the sponsor's logos on the back. We have 16 sponsors for our T-shirt project.
